Buford Ray Wynn, age 68, of Mangum, passed away Monday afternoon, June 5, 2017, at the V.A. Medical Center, in Oklahoma City.
Buford was born in Mangum, Oklahoma on August 1, 1948, to Doveard Ray and Claudine (Anglin) Wynn. A 1966 graduate of Mangum High School, Buford attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Cameron University where he obtained an associate degree in 1968. On April 8, 1970, Buford began a six year tour with the United States Army, where he proudly served his country with tours to Viet Nam. After being Honorably Discharged in 1976, Buford drove for Roadway Express for twenty-five years before retiring in 2006. On July11, 2008, he married Loretta Blackburn after a long courtship. Buford loved being with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren, and his daily trips to Ace Hardware for a bag of popcorn.
Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife, Loretta, of the home; four children, Melissa Spence and husband Joseph of Surfside, Texas, Loretta J. Rouse and Rodger Ross, Jr. of Mangum, Crystal Louise Rouse of Mangum and Jimmy Ray Wynn of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Kendall, Calvin, Dovie, Rodger III and Jaden Ray; one sister, Peggy Webb of Mangum along with many other relatives and friends.
In keeping with Buford’s wishes, cremation services were entrusted to Greer Funeral Home and a memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the Greer County Fairgrounds at 6:30 p.m. All his friends are invited to attend.
